AI in Investigations: How Fraudsters Exploit It – and How We Fight Back

KPMG Zurich Badenerstrasse 172, 8004 Zurich

The Working Group Investigations kindly invites you to its next event on Thursday, 22 January 2026, from 17:00 to 19:30, hosted atKPMG Zurich, Badenerstrasse 172, 8004 Zürich.

This session will focus on an urgent and fast-evolving topic in today’s investigative landscape: “AI in Investigations: How Fraudsters Exploit It – and How We Fight Back

As Artificial Intelligence increasingly shapes corporate processes, it also empowers fraudsters with new tools for deception, manipulation and scale. At the same time, investigation teams are exploring how AI can enhance fact-finding, accelerate complex reviews and strengthen forensic capabilities. This event aims to illuminate both the risks and the opportunities.

Oliver Warda (KPMG Forensic) together with Paula Cobas (KPMG Forensic Technology) will discuss an overview of typical AI-driven fraud schemes, recent developments in AI-supported forensic tools, and share insights from a recent case study.

Building on these insights, we will then transition into a moderated discussion with industry experts – including Holger Kremmling, Chief Audit Executive, Clariant International AG (further panelists will be announced shortly) – exploring how organizations can rethink risk, resilience and governance in the age of AI-enabled fraud. We will conclude the session with a brief outlook and open discussion, followed by an Apéro and Networking, sponsored by KPMG Forensic Switzerland.

We kindly ask you to register until 20 January 2025 (Attendance is limited and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis). We look forward to welcoming you to an insightful and engaging session.

Best regards,

Roman Huber & Daniel S. Weber
