15 September 2025 at 3pm – 5pm at Bayer Consumer Care AG, Peter Merianstrasse 84, 4052 Basel
Background
Compliance departments are affected by numerous trends:
- Evaluating the opportunities and risks from new technologies (AI)
- Constant cost pressure to provide compliance services in a more efficient/effective way
- Ever increasing amount of (new) regulations
- Increased (annual) reporting requirements
- ESG /sustainability /supply chain requirements that typically are not managed by Compliance but contain numerous compliance requirements
- Volatile Geopolitical climate and trade sanctions impacting supply chains
- Budgets of compliance departments are not increasing as rapidly as number of new requirements
- Risk and control philosophy
Purpose of the (series of) events
The event (initially organized in Basel and later in Zurich) aims to bring together practitioners with the purpose to listen to each other and discuss what strategies each of the compliance departments are using to effectively handle the above challenging environment. For the event, the Chatham rules apply, and any information shared should not be used outside this group.
Whilst the event will be moderated by Dominique Casutt and Patrick Wellens, each of the participants are asked to actively contribute to the discussion. Prior to the event, participants will obtain a separate email with a request to prepare for the event. Participants will be asked to share high level some information regarding the scope of their compliance program, compliance organizational structure (divisional /regional/ central/decentral, shared service centers etc.) and what strategies they are using to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the compliance department.
If you are no longer able to attend, please advise as soon as possible Patrick.wellens@bayer.com so that the spot can be given to others. This event is limited to 15 people to allow maximum interaction between participants.
