Speak-Up, Investigations & Institutional Trust

The Global Fund

The Working Group Investigations kindly invites you to its next event on 23 September 2026, from 17:00 to 19:30, at the Global Fund, Chemin du Pommier 40 · 1218 Le Grand-Saconnex

This session will focus on a critical topic for both corporations and international organizations: “Speak-Up, Investigations & Institutional Trust.”

In today’s complex governance landscape, organizations are increasingly tested by allegations involving senior leaders, sensitive donor relationships, or cross-border operations. How such matters are handled can either reinforce or undermine institutional credibility. Effective speak-up frameworks, independent investigations, due process, and transparent communication are therefore essential to sustaining trust among employees, stakeholders, and the public.

The session will open with a short case-based introduction highlighting a scenario involving allegations against a senior leader within a global organization. The case will explore key questions:

  • Who should investigate?
  • How is independence ensured?
  • Who makes final decisions?
  • How are outcomes communicated internally and externally?

Building on this scenario, we will move into a moderated panel discussion with a diverse group of experts, including:

  • Rebecca Cameron -Legal & Compliance Advisor, Center for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD)
  • Daniel S. Weber – Partner, Barandun
  • Davide Vazzari
  • Oliver Warda – KPMG
  • Peter Jonker – Integrity Partner
  • Samir Fahoum – Head of Investigations, The Global Fund

Together, the panel will discuss practical approaches to whistleblowing frameworks, investigation independence, retaliation protection, due process, and transparency across different institutional settings. The discussion will highlight both corporate and international-organization perspectives, with a focus on lessons learned and practical safeguards.

We will conclude the session with an open Q&A, followed by an Apéro and networking.

We kindly ask you to register at least 3 days before the event (attendance is limited and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis). We look forward to welcoming you to an insightful and engaging session.
