“Competitive Intelligence and Economic Dependence in Emerging Markets”– New date: Tuesday, 14 January 2025 at 5:00pm in Zurich
This session will explore the critical role of competition compliance in collecting competitive intelligence and the prevention of economic dependence abuse within Emerging Markets. Drawing from cross-border experiences in various countries across in Middle East, Africa and Asia, we will highlight certain practices that ensure compliance with the applicable competition frameworks. Attendees will gain insights into how businesses can gather and utilize market intelligence responsibly while avoiding anti-competitive behaviors. In particular, specific examples and pitfalls will be explored, such as inter alia information exchanges in labor markets and in distribution systems. We will also discuss strategies to comply with local regulations, focusing on the concept of “economic dependency” in relationships between global companies and local distributors, across diverse regions.
Speaker: İ. Fatih Yeter, Regional General Counsel and Compliance Advisor Region Emerging Markets at BSH Home Appliances Group. I. Fatih Yeter is a lawyer and compliance professional with over 15 years of multi-jurisdictional legal experience gained in a combination of international law firms and in-house practice. With a focus on cross-border matters, he currently leads legal operations and compliance programs of B/S/H/ Home Appliances group companies and their distributor markets in Emerging Markets which consists of the regions of Africa, Middle East, the Caucasus, Central Asia, ASEAN and countries of Turkey and India. Fatih holds degrees from Ankara University and University of Lausanne.
