ChairmanCo-Chair WG Life Sciences and WG Anti-Bribery and CorruptionPatrick Wellens brings 30+ years’ experience in Governance, Risk and Compliance in the pharma, FMCG and manufacturing industry. For the last 10 years he worked at Bayer as country compliance officer, country data privacy officer and global divisional compliance officer where he designed and implemented the compliance management system. He has also worked as a country CFO, regional finance manager Latin /Central America, corporate audit manager (building the internal audit department for a pharma company) and in a Big4 Forensics department helping Boards and Chief Compliance Officers. He has 20+ years’ experience managing teams conducting complex and sensitive investigations in all continents, working with law firms and prosecutors.
Patrick is the Chairman of ECS, co-chair of the working group Life Sciences and Anti-bribery and Corruption, he is also a member of the editorial board of the Society for Corporate Compliance and Ethics and Board member of Association of Corporate Investigators, the leading worldwide association to develop professional standards for investigations.
He has published extensively in numerous compliance journals and contributed chapters to various handbooks. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP-I).
