COP26: Is corruption on the climate change agenda?

As representatives of several countries around the world currently gather at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) to negotiate their climate change commitments, the question arises if they will include a credible commitment to fight corruption.

Corruption is one thing that would derail efforts to address the climate crisis, according to Monica Guy, Communications and Project Officer at the Basel Institute on Governance. In her latest recently published article, she criticises that corruption would be strangely missing from the conversation and contributes some points that might deserve to be discussed with more emphasis.
