Caroline Onyango-Dyregaard

Co-Chair Working Group International GenevaCaroline is a Danish-American dual national of Kenyan heritage with over 15 years of experience as a legal professional advising international organizations, foundations, and multinational stakeholders on governance, legal strategy, ethics, compliance, and risk management. Her career spans private practice, the for-profit and non-profit sectors, where she has led legal functions, strengthened institutional governance, and developed enterprise-wide compliance and risk management frameworks.Currently, Caroline serves as Interim General Counsel at the WHO Foundation in Switzerland, overseeing legal, governance, compliance, enterprise risk management, and data protection. Caroline began her legal career as a litigation attorney in Washington, D.C., before moving into in-house legal and compliance roles at A.P. Moller – Maersk, BASF, and Novo Nordisk, where she advised on a broad range of commercial, regulatory, governance, and compliance matters across international markets. Caroline has extensive experience supporting executive leadership and boards, negotiating complex partnerships, and enabling organizations to achieve their strategic objectives while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and accountability. Her expertise includes corporate governance, regulatory compliance, data protection, enterprise risk management, and cross-border legal advisory work.
